Special trains announced for Velankanni festival

Train No 01007 Madgaon – Velankanni Festival Special will leave Madgaon at 12.30 pm on September 6 and reach Velankanni at 12.25 pm, the next day (1 Service).

CHENNAI: Southern Railway has announced the operation of special trains in the Madgaon-Velankanni section to clear extra rush of passengers during the Velankanni festival.

Train No 01007 Madgaon – Velankanni Festival Special will leave Madgaon at 12.30 pm on September 6 and reach Velankanni at 12.25 pm, the next day (1 Service).

In the return direction, Train No 01008 Velankanni – Madgaon Festival Special will leave Velankanni at 11.55 pm on September 7 and reach Madgaon at 11.00 pm, the next day (1 Service).

Coach Composition will be of two AC two tier coaches, six AC three tier coaches, seven sleeper class coaches, two general second class coaches, one second class coach (Disabled friendly) & one luggage cum brake van.

The train will have stoppages at Coimbatore, Erode, and Tiruchirappalli.

Advance reservation for the festival special trains will be open shortly.
