Special trains announced between Ernakulam and Velankanni; check details

CHENNAI:  A pair of special trains will be operated between Ernakulam and Velankanni to clear extra rush of passengers in summer.

Train 06061 Ernakulam junction – Velankanni Express Special will leave Ernakulam junction at 11.50 pm on May 14, 21, and 28, and also June 4 (Wednesdays) and reach Velankanni at 3.15 pm the next day (4 services).

Train 06062 Velankanni – Ernakulam Junction Express Special will leave Velankanni at 6.40 pm on May 15, 22, and 29, and also June 5 (Thursdays) and reach Ernakulam junction at 11.55 am the next day (4 services).

The train will pass through Tenkasi, Rajapalayam, Sivakasi, Virudhuanagar, Arupukottai, Karaikudi, Pattukottai, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.

Advance reservation for the special trains comprising an AC tier-II, 3 AC tier-III, 8 sleeper class coaches and 4 general second class coaches and 2 second class coaches (Divyangjan-friendly) will open at 8 am on May 9, a release issued by Southern Railway (SR) said.
