Special NMR trains to be operated during holidays in September, October

The Coonoor-Udagamandalam holiday special train (No 06177) will leave Coonoor at 8.20 am and reach Udagamandalam at 9.40 am for two days on Sept 17 and 18, besides Oct 1 and 2, said a statement.

COIMBATORE: For many a visit to the Nilgiris is incomplete without a ride in the Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) train. Catering to the needs of such enthusiasts, the Southern Railway has announced the operation of operating holiday special trains in view of the expected rush for national holidays in September and October.

The Coonoor-Udagamandalam holiday special train (No 06177) will leave Coonoor at 8.20 am and reach Udagamandalam at 9.40 am for two days on Sept 17 and 18, besides Oct 1 and 2, said a statement.

On return, the special train (No 06180) is scheduled to leave Udagamandalam at 4.45 pm and reach Coonoor at 5.55pm on Sept 16 and 17, besides Sept 30 and Oct 1.

Similarly, the Mettupalayam -Udagamandalam holiday special train (No 06171) will leave Mettupalayam at 9.10 am to reach Udagamandalam at 2.25 pm the same day.

It will be operated as four services on Sept 16 and 30, besides Oct 21 and 23. Further, three round trip joy rides per day were to be operated between Udagamandalam -Ketti-Udagamandalam on Sept 17 and Oct 1
