Southern Railway announces trains passing through Palakkad section to face 15-20 min delays

CHENNAI: Passengers travelling through the Palakkad railway section should expect short delays on select dates in January, Southern Railway said on Friday

The Railways has planned a fixed time corridor block in the Palakkad division for scheduled maintenance works. As a result, the delays will be between 15 and 50 minutes. Among the affected services is West Coast Express, running between Mangaluru and Chennai, which will be regulated for around 20 minutes during its journeys on January 15 and 22.

Several special trains originating from Kollam, including services bound for Charlapalli, Nanded, Machilipatnam and Narasapur, departing at 2.30 am on different dates between January 7 and 21 will also be affected.

Most of these trains will be held for around 20 minutes, while a few will be regulated up to 50 minutes on January 11, 18 and 20.
