Southern Railway announces special trains between Rameswaram and Banaras

The train will have stoppages at Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Chennai Egmore

CHENNAI: Special trains would be operated between Rameswaram and Banaras to clear extra rush of passengers, said a Southern Railway statement.

Train No 06099 Rameswaram – Banaras Express special will leave Rameswaram at 11.50 pm on December 30(Tuesday) and reach Banaras at 12.00 pm, the fourth day (one service). Train No 06100 Banaras – Chennai Beach Express Special will leave Banaras at 11.00 pm on January 2 (Friday) and reach Chennai Beach at 10.00 pm the third day (one service). The train will have stoppages at Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Chennai Egmore.

Coach composition will be of 16 AC three tier coaches of which eight coaches earmarked for IRCTC/Kashi Tamil Sangamam delegates and two luggage cum brake vans. Advance Reservation for the special trains is open, added the release.
