CHENNAI: The Southern Railway has released the schedule for advance ticket bookings for the Pongal festival.

As Pongal is one of the most important festivals in Tamil Nadu, demand for train tickets is expected to be high. So, passengers are advised to book their tickets early. Reservations for travel from January 11-18 will open from today (November 12) and go on till November 19. Each travel date has a corresponding booking date, opening exactly 60 days in advance.

You can book tickets through railway reservation counters, authorised agents, and online via the IRCTC portal.

SR has advised travellers, especially those planning to visit their hometowns during Pongal, to plan their journey in advance to avoid last-minute rush.
