Onam special trains to be operated to Kannur from city, Bengaluru

Train 06009 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Kannur express special will leave Central station at 11.55 pm on August 28 (Thursday) and reach Kannur at 2 pm the next day (one service).

CHENNAI: Two Onam special trains would be operated between Dr MGR Chennai Central and Kannur, and Kannur and SMVT Bengaluru, to clear extra rush of passengers, said a Southern Railway statement.

Train 06009 Dr MGR Chennai Central-Kannur express special will leave Central station at 11.55 pm on August 28 (Thursday) and reach Kannur at 2 pm the next day (one service).

Coach composition will be of one AC two-tier coach, three AC three-tier coaches, 14 sleeper class coaches and two second class coaches (Disabled friendly). The train will have stoppages at Tiruvallur, Arakkonam, Katpadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tirupur and Podanur.

Train 06125 Kannur-SMVT Bengaluru express special will leave Kannur at 9.30 pm on August 29 (Friday) and reach SMVT Bengaluru at 11 am the next day (one service). In return direction, Train 06126 SMVT Bengaluru-Kannur Express special will leave Bengaluru at 7 pm on August 30 (Saturday) and reach Kannur at 7.15 am the next day (one service).

Coach Composition is of one AC two-tier coach, three AC three-tier coaches, 14 sleeper class coaches and two second class coaches (Disabled friendly). The train will have stoppages at Podanur, Tirupur, Erode and Salem.

Advance reservations are open from Southern Railway end.
