SI’s house in police line looted

A traffic sub inspector’s house at the police quarters behind the Vellore north police station was burgled of cash and jewels recently.

Police said that two days back, Shanmugam along with his family went out of town. On Sunday night, when he returned home, he found the lock of his house to be broke open.


Shocked by this, Shanmugan immediately went inside the home and checked the cupboard where the cash and jewels were kept. However, the miscreants had looted Rs 65,000 cash and 7 sovereigns gold kept in the cupboard. He immediately registered a complaint with the Vellore north police. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and investigation has begun.
