Several express trains diverted due to maintenance in Madurai division

The train will skip Madurai, Sholavandan, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul and Manapparai, and will have additional stops at Aruppukottai, Sivaganga and Pudukkottai.

CHENNAI: Southern Railway has announced the diversion of several express trains, including the Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express, due to maintenance work in the Madurai division.

According to a release, the Guruvayur–Chennai Egmore Express (16128) will run on a diverted route via Virudhunagar, Manamadurai, Karaikudi and Tiruchy on multiple dates in April. The train will skip Madurai, Sholavandan, Kodaikanal Road, Dindigul and Manapparai, and will have additional stops at Aruppukottai, Sivaganga and Pudukkottai.

Similarly, the Nagercoil–Mumbai Express (16352) running on April 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 20 and 30 will be diverted via Madurai, Manamadurai, Karaikudi and Tiruchy, skipping Dindigul, with additional stops at Aruppukottai, Sivaganga and Pudukkottai.

The Kanniyakumari–Howrah Express (12666) on April 4, 11, 18 and 25 will also be diverted via the same route, skipping Kodaikanal Road and Dindigul, with additional stops at Sivaganga and Pudukkottai.

Other affected services include the Kanniyakumari–Hyderabad Express (17070) and the Thoothukudi–Kacheguda Express (17616), which will also operate on diverted routes on specified dates.
