School reopening and exam dates for TN students out: Check deets here

School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi made the announcements in a press conference.

CHENNAI: The academic year for students studying from Classes 6 to 12 in Tamil Nadu will commence on June 1. For Classes 1 to 5, the reopening day will be June 5.

A detailed timetable, released by School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, said quarterly exams will be held for all standards from September 14 to 27.

Accordingly, half-yearly exams will be held from December 11 to 22. The board exams for Class 12 will be held from March 18 and for Class 11 from March 19. Likewise, Class 10 board exams will be held from April 8.

A detailed subject-wise exam table will be released later. The total number of working days of the schools in the 2023-2024 academic year will be 217.

However, the School Education Minister said that if the summer heat continues to rise, it would be discussed whether the reopening of schools needs to be postponed.
