TIRUCHY: In a strange coincidence, twin sisters from Coimbatore scored identical marks of 474 in the class 10 boards, surprising everyone and each other. Making it even more extraordinary is that they both scored 94 marks in mathematics.

The twins – Kavitha and Kanika – daughters of Sundrarajan and Bharathi Selvi from Ramanathapuram in Coimbatore were said to be shrewd in their studies and identical in their behaviour.

They have been pursuing their class 10 at the Corporation School in Ramanathapuram and appeared for the public examination this year.

When the results were out on Friday, the siblings were shocked that they scored the same total of 474 marks and 94 marks in mathematics.

However, in other subjects, they seemed to be vying with each other. Kavitha scored 95 in Tamil while Kanika scored 96 in the subject. Similarly, Kavitha scored 98 in English, Kanika secured 97. “We were particular about studying during the early hours not only for the public exam but for every examination, and we used to take time to discuss between us the subjects we revised,” said the sisters.

They further said though they were expecting a good score, it was a sweet surprise for both of them as they bagged identical marks, something they never expected would happen, the elated twins said.
