Rs 40k robbed from Jolarpet Tasmac shop

A tasmac shop near Jolarpet was looted off Rs 40,000 in the early hours of Monday while the attempt to break into five other Tasmac retail outlets turned futile. The cash and liquor bottles in five Tasmac retail outlets remained safe as attempts to break the lock in the five premises by unidentified miscreants were foiled, officials said.

The retail outlet at Ottapatti near Jolarpet was broken by the thieves who decamped with Rs 40,000 cash. A case has been registered and investigations have begun. The tasmac shops in which robbery attempts were made include three in Thirumalnagar area in Tirupattur town and one in the town’s Pudupettai area. Similarly, robbery attempt was made in a shop at Thamaleri Muthur near Jolarpet. Following the robbery attempts cases have been registered by Tirupattur taluk and Natrampalli and Jolarpet police stations.
