With the ever increasing sexual crimes against children and women, an astrologer was arrested under POCSO act for sexually assaulting two minor girls for one week in Rasipuram on Wednesday.

The victimized girls of age 13 and 15 live with their parents in Paravaikadu, Rasipuram. They were diagnosed with paranoia and as the rituals by an astrologer is the textbook treatment for such cases in rural areas, the parents took them to an astrologer, Sekhar, of the same locality for treatment. The astrologer took them in and sexually assaulted the girls for a week and threatened them with murder to keep them quiet.

However, the girls informed their parents of the violation. Following which, they filed a complaint against the accused in the Mangalapuram Police Station and the Police officers arrested the astrologer under POCSO act and are conducting inquiry.
