COIMBATORE: PMK founder S Ramadoss on Sunday said the executive committee and general council, to be convened in Salem on Monday, will grant him the authority to decide on an alliance in the upcoming assembly polls.

Speaking to the media on his arrival in Salem, the PMK leader, however, refused to say anything further on the alliance or other decisions to be taken in the meeting.

Earlier, the party’s MLA GK Mani said Ramadoss will form a winning alliance for the upcoming 2026 Assembly polls. “As of now, the alliance has not been firmed up with any party. The PMK has received invitations to join the alliance from all three political fronts. Soon, Ramadoss will announce the alliance decision as he is a leader who determines the course of politics,” he said, adding that over the past week, Ramadoss has been meeting the party’s office bearers to discuss potential alliances for the upcoming assembly polls.

Taking a dig at Anbumani and his faction, GK Mani said that some people are conspiring to take over the PMK, splitting it for personal gain. “They are attempting to seize PMK through deceit. His supporters have systematically taken control of several wings of the PMK and even blocked the social media page of Ramadoss in an uncivilised manner. Yet, the influence of Ramadoss has increased, and PMK has emerged as a strong party. Those who went with Anbumani will soon return as his alliance will not win. Ramadoss will once again secure the official recognition of the party,” he said.
