On Emperor Raja Raja Cholan's 1035th ‘Sathaya Vizha’, the government offered a garland to Raja Raja Cholan's statue to pay their respects.

The ‘Sathaya Vizha’ is conducted in a grand manner each year to mark the birth anniversary of Emperor Raja Raja Chola. But, this year the program is shortened to a single day because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As per the request of the devotees, the spiritual hymns were recited in Tamil to Emperor Raja Raja Cholan. The employees in the Thanjavur temple were offered new clothes today. As political personalities would soon arrive to pay their respects to Raja Raja Chola, Police are gathered in the temple premises for protection.
