Quarterly holiday for Classes 1 to 5 extended till October 12

Students studying from Classes 6 to 12 will have their holiday from October 1 to October 10.

CHENNAI: The School Education Department announced on Tuesday that the Quarterly holidays for students studying in Classes 1 to 5 which was earlier scheduled from October 1 to October 5 has been extended till October 12.

According to the department circular that read, "On the basis of continuing teachers unions and teachers to provide compensatory leave in lieu of summer vacation for pre-primary teachers of numeracy and literacy, the three days -- October 6th, 7th, and 8th will be treated as compensatory leave for teachers for holding the first-round of Ennum Ezhuthum training during summer holidays. (The remaining 2 days the teachers worked in summer will be compensated in future)".

Students studying from Classes 6 to 12 will have their holiday from October 1 to October 10.

As per the letter of the Director of State Educational Research and Training Institute, the second phase of Ennum Ezhuthum training will be conducted on October 10, 11, and 12 for the teachers handling classes 1 to 5 in primary schools.
