CHENNAI: AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami said that property tax hikes and electricity tariff hikes are the achievements of the DMK regime on Sunday.
"We are not saying that we don't want to build a memorial hall for him, who was the Chief Minister. But, is it necessary to set up a memorial at Marina for Rs. 80 crore when there are not enough funds? Instead, we can buy pens for 6.5 crore people of Tamil Nadu for Rs 80 crore. What have you done 15 months after DMK took charge? People are asking. The government did not bring any scheme that could benefit the people and no plans have been executed. So what is the benefit to us?" he slammed the DMK while addressing mediapersons in Tiruchy.
He added, "DMK has not fulfilled any promises, including Rs 100 subsidy per gas cylinder and cancellation of education loans. Increase in property tax and increase in electricity bills are the achievements of the DMK regime."
