Probe under way after film screening at Tirunelveli school

MADURAI: Tamil movies screened in an aided higher secondary school at VK Puram in Tirunelveli turned controversial and prompted action.

The movies ‘Vettaiyan’ and ‘GOAT’ were shown to some students after collecting money.

Education department officials inquired school administration on the screening on Tuesday. Since somebody from the Hindu Munnani spread the message on social media that the students were shown movies in the school, it came to the knowledge of the department.

Rs 10 were said to be collected from each of the students. Later, the money collected was returned to the students as per instruction, sources said.
