While a few men were unloading the onions, Kalidhas alais Mugesh (45) from Iyyankuttipalayam, reportedly lifted one bag and was trying to flee on his bike. On suspicion, one of the load men, stopped the man and learnt that he was taking the onions home. He was immediately taken to Velmurugan who reportedly tied the man to a post after assaulting him. Later, he accepted the offence and the onions were recovered from him. The Big Bazaar police rushed to the spot and conducted inquiry. Since Velmurgan did not lodge any complaint, Kalidhas was warned and let off.
