CHENNAI: Quoting the recent incident, where a college student murdered an elderly woman and robbed her valuables for playing online rummy, Ramadoss said that earlier people used to commit suicide, but the issue has now taken a more vigorous turn as murders started to happen due to online rummy. People are expecting the state to ban online rummy immediately.

Ramadoss further said that there will not be any favourable judgment in the Supreme Court on the issue and so the state should enact a new law to ban online rummy. The same demand was echoed in ongoing Assembly session.
