Pharma body discusses patient-focused drugs

Members of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress Association met Drugs Control officers from across the State at the 71st edition of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress to discuss patient-focused drug development and the role of regulators in the healthcare system.

The pharma experts said that the role of drug regulatorsin making the Indian healthcare system is significant, especially when the country is aglobal destination when it comes to pharmaceuticals. More than 10,000 delegates from the pharmaceutical industry, academia, drug regulatory fields participated inthe conference.


In the event, members of All India Drugs Control Officers’ Confederation stressed on the importance of regulations on the drugs and its monitoring.


“In today’s progressively digital world, there has been a major push this year to digitise elements of the conference.For that, delegate registration and technical poster presentations have been made online. In addition, a pharmacy-themed online quiz, has been included as part of the IPC for the first time ever,” said Ravi Uday Bhaskar, the General Secretary of the AIDCOC.


The conference aimed at exchanging of ideas amongst members of the global pharmaceutical fraternity to promote improvements in global healthcare by way of promoting innovation in genomics, target based medication, robotic surgery and biosimilar, among other scientific subgenres.
