CHENNAI: O Panneerselvam supporter and proprietor of an RO purification plant in Theni's Periyakulam, Narayanan, was swindled of his money Rs 50 lakhs by his driver Sridhar.
Narayanan, secretary of the AIADMK youth wing in Theni, is reportedly a close confidante of the OPS family.
While returning to Periyakulam from Usilampatti, Narayanan, according to Maalaimalar reports, has asked Sridhar to deposit the money at his house and alighted the car at Andipatti and boarded the car of Theni AIADMK secretary Syed Khan once again en route to Periyakulam.
However Sridhar, instead of going to Narayanan's residence, escaped with the money switching off his mobile phone. A complaint has been lodged with the Periyakarai police station.
Sridhar's wife Gangammal alleged that she couldn't reach her husband and added that his life is in danger. This incident involving a prominent AIADMK figure in Theni has sent shockwaves in the district and among the party.
