CHENNAI: PMK founder S Ramadoss on Monday said speculation over alliance formations was common during election periods and that such talk often mixed facts with falsehoods, in response to a DMK minister’s claim of the Vanniyar party joining the Secular Progressive Alliance.

Speaking to reporters in Chennai, he clarified that no decision had been taken on exiting the NDA.

Responding to a question on State Minister RS Rajakannappan’s remarks about ongoing alliance talks with the PMK, Ramadoss said he would announce his stand at an appropriate time.

Meanwhile, the faction led by Ramadoss announced the expulsion of three PMK MLAs supporting Anbumani’s faction for alleged anti-party activities.

In a statement, PMK general secretary Murali Shankar said explanations were sought from certain legislators through the party’s disciplinary action committee, with notices issued on July 20, 2025.

Despite repeated follow-ups, no response was received, he said.

In view of this, Mayilam MLA S Sivakumar, Mettur MLA S Sadasivam and Dharmapuri MLA SP Venkateswaran have been expelled from the party, the party said.
