CHENNAI: Parents of the Class 12 student who died in a private school in Kallakurichi met senior advocate Papa Mohan, demanding a court-monitored committee to probe the incident.

The parents said that they have lost faith in the CB-CID investigation.

Addressing the media, they alleged that the CB-CID was investigating the angle of suicide in support of the school management in the case. The parents also said that they will also meet Chief Minister M K Stalin and DGP C Sylendra Babu in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Madras High Court on Wednesday refused to initiate suo-moto proceedings against the issuance of a bail order for the Kallakurichi private school's chairman/correspondent, his wife, who is the secretary of the school, the principal, and two teachers.

On July 13, a Class 12 student, was found dead at the school premises late at night. The alleged apathy of the school management irated protestors, who took to violence on July 17. Protestors involved in arson, torched buildings and vans.
