No agitator hospitalised: CoP

City Police Commissioner AK Viswanathan, who visited the police personnel injured in the clash at the hospital, said that people should not get misled by rumours and false information.

Speaking to the media after meeting Rajamangalam inspector Rajkumar and Armed Reserve constables Kala and Udayakumari, who suffered injuries and were admitted to Government Stanley Hospital, the official said that no protester has been admitted to the hospital with injuries. He claimed that police-maintained decorum despite the protest being held without permission at Washermenpet.


Viswanathan earlier visited Joint Commissioner Vijayakumari (West) who also suffered injuries and has been admitted at Apollo Hospital and met Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami to apprise him of the situation. City police on Saturday released videos stating that it was the protesters who turned violent first and police was merely doing their job of resisting them.
