DTEA runs seven schools for Tamil students of Delhi where Tamil is taught compulsorily till Class 8 and as optional in Classes 9 and 10. More than 7,500 students study in DTEA schools and Tamil schools for DTEA schools are supported by the state government for free.
For the benefit of Tamil students, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) had allotted land for construction of new school building in DTEA school in Mayurvihar. Following the allotment of land representatives of DTEA approached state government to construct school building following which Tamil Nadu government allotted Rs 5 crore, in 2018.
The new school building named after late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, which was inaugurated through video conferencing had been constructed at 6,515 square meters with a ground and four floors.
CM flags off ambulances:
The state government added 108 new ambulances to its existing fleet of 1,192 taking the total tally to 1,300. The 108 ambulances were purchased at the cost of Rs 24 crore.
