NEET UG: Counselling for AIQ to begin on Oct 11

For those selected after the first round counselling, the last date for joining the courses is October 28 in the case of All India Quota seats, while it is November 4 for State quota seats, the Medical Counselling Committee said in an announcement on Tuesday.

CHENNAI: The first round of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) counselling for the undergraduate seats earmarked for All India Quota (AIQ) in MBBS and BDS, and BSc nursing would start from October 11 and end on October 20, said officials. The counselling for the State quota seats is likely to be held between October 17-28.

For those selected after the first round counselling, the last date for joining the courses is October 28 in the case of All India Quota seats, while it is November 4 for State quota seats, the Medical Counselling Committee said in an announcement on Tuesday.

A senior official with the Directorate of Medical Education said, “The applications submitted for MBBS and BDS seats in Tamil Nadu are being processed. The merit list and counselling schedule for the medical courses is likely to be announced soon.”

The second round of counselling for All India Quota will be held from November 2 to 10. The State quota second round counselling is expected to be conducted from November 7-18.

The mop-up round counselling will begin on November 23 for AIQ and State mop-up counselling from December 6. There will be two more rounds after that, second mop-up round and stray vacancy round for BDS/BSc Nursing courses. The academic session for MBBS course this year will commence on November 15. The schedule will be uploaded on the medical counselling committee’s website.
