Nalini on fast, writes to PM seeking mercy killing

Nalini Hariharan, one of the convicts in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking mercy killing to end her severe mental trauma as she was being repeatedly cheated with the promise of being released, jail sources revealed.

Nalini had handed over the letter to Vellore central prison superintendent, who has forwarded it to top jail officials in Chennai.

Nalini’s mother Padma had met her daughter in the prison when Nalini had informed her about the letter addressed to the Prime Minister.

Meanwhile, for the second time in this month, Nalini had resorted to an indefinite fast starting from Thursday demanding immediate release from the prison. It may be recalled that Nalini ended her fast only on November 5 demanding the same.
