Mornings to continue being misty, hazy in Tamil Nadu till December 27: RMC

Under the influence of an upper-air cyclonic circulation over south TN, light rain is expected at isolated places across coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until December 27.

CHENNAI: The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast that the city and its neighbourhoods are likely to witness misty and hazy weather during the early morning hours until December 27.

Under the influence of an upper-air cyclonic circulation over south TN, light rain is expected at isolated places across coastal Tamil Nadu and Puducherry until December 27.

The RMC said, “An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over south TN and the neighbourhood at 1.5 km above mean sea level. Light rain is likely to occur at isolated places over coastal TN and Puducherry areas. Dry weather is likely to prevail over interior TN till 27 December.”

The weather bulletin stated that the minimum temperatures were likely to be 2-4 degree Celsius below-normal at a few pockets over TN and Puducherry areas in the next couple of days till December 25, and normal to below normal during the subsequent two days.

“Ground frost is likely to occur in isolated pockets over the higher ranges of The Nilgiris at night and early morning hours on December 24 (today),” added the bulletin. “Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at isolated places over TN and Puducherry areas till December 29.”
