CHENNAI: After Chief Minister MK Stalin was admitted to a private hospital for Covid treatment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called him over phone and inquired his health condition.
"Prime Minister called the Chief Minister over phone and inquired his health condition. Chief Minister had replied that his health condition is improving," said the State government in a press release.
Recently, Stalin tested positive for Covid and isolated himself at his house. As infection did not subside, he was admitted to Kauvery hospital on Thursday.
Meanwhile, leaders of various political parties and Governor RN Ravi wished the Chief Minister an early recovery from Covid. During the conversation with Prime Minister, Stalin informed him that as he was infected with Covid he could not come directly to invite him for the inaugural 44th International Chess Olympiad as he informed earlier and he would send a team of DMK MPs, including TR Balu and Kanimozhi, along with Chief Secretary V Irai Anbu to invite him for the event. Stalin had also urged the Prime Minister to participate in the inaugural function of the international event.
44th International Chess Olympiad will be inaugurated on July 28 at Nehru Indoor Stadium and will end on August 10.
