The passers-by who noticed the decomposed body of the man hanging from a tree at Krishnapuram alerted the local authorities, who in turn informed the police. A team from local station removed the body and sent it to Ponneri GovernmentHospital for autopsy.
Investigation revealed that the deceased Ravi, a tailor, was missing for the last few days and a complaint had been lodged at Ponneri police station. Further investigation is underway. Meanwhile, a 29-year-old woman from Sri Lanka was found hanging at her house in Ramapuram on Saturday. According to the police, Kanchana married Arun, a private school teacher, only 5 months ago.
“They met on FB and developed a relationship. However, the couple allegedly quarrelled often due to differences,” inquiry revealed. A probe has been initiated by the RDO.
