Miscreants damage Hindu functionary’s car in Kovai

On receiving information, a police team led by Coimbatore Range DIG MS Muthusamy, Superintendent of Police V Badrinarayanan and other officials visited the scene of offence and held inquiries.

COIMBATORE: In a fresh attack, miscreants damaged the windscreens of a car owned by a Hindu Munnani functionary in Mettupalayam on Monday night.

The incident was known on Tuesday morning, when V Harish, the outfit’s youth wing functionary in Mettupalayam Town area found the car parked in front of his rental house damaged. The miscreants also hurled stones targeting the house around midnight.

On receiving information, a police team led by Coimbatore Range DIG MS Muthusamy, Superintendent of Police V Badrinarayanan and other officials visited the scene of offence and held inquiries.

Police also checked the CCTV images to identify and track down the culprits. Tension prevailed for a while as members of the Hindu outfit gathered in the spot. Around six persons affiliated to PFI and SDPI have been arrested in Coimbatore so far in connection with attacks on properties of Hindu outfit functionaries following the recent NIA raids.
