Minor landslips delay NMR train by over an hour

The train then commenced its journey delayed by an hour and reached Coonoor by around 11.20 am and then proceeded to Ooty.

COIMBATORE: The Nilgiri Mountain Railway (NMR) train was delayed by over an hour on Tuesday due to minor landslips on the track following heavy rains in the hills.

The train began its journey from Mettupalayam at around 7.10 am with around 180 passengers. It was however, stopped at Adderley station at around 8.30 am due to blocks reported on the track near Hill Grove.

Boulders had rolled down the track following heavy rains. Workers, who were deployed to restore the track, removed the boulders by tying them to a rope. The damage caused to the track was also rectified and work got over by 9 pm.

The train then commenced its journey delayed by an hour and reached Coonoor by around 11.20 am and then proceeded to Ooty.
