Migrant workers protest on road in Koodankulam

Scores of migrant labourers, mostly working for Koodankulam power plant in Tirunelveli district, took to the road on Saturday and protested urging the need for returning to their hometowns and also to fulfill other demands.

Tension prevailed at Koodankulam as an Inspector suffered head injuries after a stone pelted from the mob of workers, the Inspector’s driver suffered bruise on right arm.

Such an attack incident occurred while the police personnel and officials were engaged in pacifying the agitating workers, sources said.
