Tamil Nadu: New police Commissioners for Avadi, Tambaram; 15 SPs promoted as DIG; Mahesh Dayal new ADGP (L&O)

CHENNAI: In a major reshuffle of police officers in Tamil Nadu, the home department transferred over 50 officers on Tuesday.

Maheshwar Dayal, Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services will be the new Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law and Order replacing Davidson Devasirvatham who has been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) and posted as DGP, Armed Police.

ADGP rank officers, Sandeep Mittal and Bala Naga Devi serving at Cyber Crime wing and Economic Offences Wing have been promoted as DGP and will continue serving as DGPs of their erstwhile wings.

TS Anbu serving as IGP, CB-CID has been promoted to the rank of ADGP and posted as ADGP, CB-CID.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) (South zone), Prem Anand Sinha is promoted as ADGP and posted as Commissioner of Police, Avadi replacing K Shankar who is posted as Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services. Vijayendra Bidari, Additional Commissioner of Police (headquarters), Greater Chennai Police will be the new IGP, South Zone.

A Amalraj who was serving as ADGP, Enforcement Bureau CID is transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Tambaram city, an office he served earlier. Amalraj will be replacing ADGP Abhin Dinesh Modak who will take the place of Amalraj at Enforcement Bureau CID.

Apart from Avadi and Tambaram Commissionerates, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore too will see a change at helm. Superintendent of Police (SP), N Manivannan serving as Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police Battallion, Avadi has been promoted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and posted as Commissioner, Tirunelveli city replacing Santosh Hadimani who has been posted as DIG, Salem.

N Kannan, Additional Commissioner of Police (South), Greater Chennai Police (GCP) is posted as Commissioner, Coimbatore city replacing A Saravana Sundar who is posted as IGP, West Zone. K S Narenthiran Nayar, IGP (Establishment) has been posted as Additional Commissioner of Police (south), Greater Chennai Police. V Balakrishnan, IGP (Administration) has been posted as IGP, Central Zone replacing K Joshi Nirmal Kumar who has been posted as Additional Commissioner (Headquarters), Greater Chennai Police.

IGP rank officers, Deepak M Damor, T Senthil Kumar, Anisa Husain, Najmul Hoda and Mahendra Kumar Rathod have been promoted to the rank of ADGP.

DIG rank officers V Ramya Bharati, R Ponni, Sonal Chandra have been promoted to IGP. As many as 15 SP rank officers Georgy George, C Kalaichelvan, P Ve Arunshaktikumar, Arvind Menon, Shashank Sai, Deshmukh Shekar Sanjay, Deepa Ganiger, Omprakash Meena, N Manivannan Ara Arularasu, S Maheshwaran, P Saravanan, P Saminathan, A Jayalakshmi and R Sivakumar have been promoted to the rank of DIG.

Shashank Sai, Deshmukh Sehkar Sanjay, Ara Arularasu, P Saravanan and P Swaminathan have been posted as DIGs of Kancheepuram, Ramanathapuram, Villupuram, Tirunelveli and Dindigul ranges respectively. A Jayalakshmi and R Sivakumar have been posted as Joint Commissioners in Tambaram and Avadi Commissionerates.

Disha Mittal, serving as Joint Commissioner (West), Greater Chennai Police has been transferred and posted as JC (North), GCP Villupuram DIG ES Uma has been transferred and posted as JC (West), GCP.

R Ponkarthik Kumar serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Adyar has been transferred and posted as DCP, Pallikaranai in Tambaram City limits replacing AC Karthikeyan who will take over as DCP Adyar.
