Major fire breaks out at chemical plant in Tiruvallur, nearby school evacuated

CHENNAI: A major fire broke out at a thinner manufacturing plant in Thirumullaivoyal area of Tiruvallur district on Thursday, according to Thanthi TV.

Thick black smoke has shrouded the entire neighbourhood, affecting motorists and members of the public. 

The smoke even spread to a private school nearby, prompting teachers to evacuate students from the premises immediately. Following this, authorities declared a holiday for the students.

Meanwhile, personnel from the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services (TNFRS) department are actively working to extinguish the fire.
