CHENNAI: A day after ending the speculations of alliance talks with the BJP, the DMDK general secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth on Tuesday said that her party will never accept dividing people or causing division through the CAA and demanded a white paper explanation from the Centre.
"At this time, when the elections are nearing, the CAA has caused a great shock among all the people. By religion, by language, by caste, by feeling, we all come together as brothers and sisters and become an example to other countries in the world as a country diversified of culture. The DMDK will never accept dividing people on the name of CAA, "a statement from Premalatha read.
Urging the BJP-led Central government, Premalatha said, "The Central government should provide the complete details of the CAA and a guarantee that this Act will be safe for all kinds of people living in India. It should give an explanation in the form of a white paper. Until the Centre explains, the DMDK will never accept CAA."
