Light to moderate rain likely in parts of Tamil Nadu till January 3

CHENNAI: Light to moderate rain is likely to continue at isolated places across Tamil Nadu till January 3, with a few locations in south Tamil Nadu expected to see more frequent showers, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai.

The weather department has warned of heavy rain at isolated locations in the ghat areas of Coimbatore district, the Nilgiris, Tirunelveli, Thoothukudi and Kanyakumari, mainly due to moisture inflow from the Bay of Bengal.

Rainfall activity is expected to reduce from January 3, with dry weather likely to prevail across the State from January 4 to 6.
