Lawyers protest demanding an Act to protect them

Following repeated attacks on lawyers in Tirupur and Thittakudi areas, several lawyers gathered in front of Chengalpattu district court and protested on Tuesday.

CHENGALPATTU: More than 100 lawyers in Chengalpattu on Tuesday protested against the repeated attacks on their community and demanded stringent laws to protect them.

Following repeated attacks on lawyers in Tirupur and Thittakudi areas, several lawyers gathered in front of Chengalpattu district court and protested on Tuesday.

Led by president of Lawyers Association Sripankumar, more than 100 lawyers wearing black badges boycotted work and condemned the attacks on advocates. Claiming that attacks on lawyers are increasing day by day, the protestors raised slogans and demanded that the Centre enacts laws to prevent such attacks and protect them.
