Kiran Bedi visits East Traffic Police station

Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, along with a team from Raj Nivas, visited the East Traffic Police station here on Saturday as part of her 241st ‘morning weekend round’.

Lt Governor Kiran Bedi, along with a team from Raj Nivas, visited the East Traffic Police station here on Saturday as part of her 241st ‘morning weekend round’.


According to a Raj Nivas release, the L-G witnessed the morning role call and had a session with the police station beat officers to check the knowledge of their beats.


Later, she audited the manpower deployment to ensure every traffic cop is at the point duties with specific area responsibilities allotted to them.


She directed the SPs of Puducherry district , including traffic SP, to supervise the morning briefing of traffic and police station.


The Lt Governor advised them to ensure the review of performance and also new briefing points given and comply with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) already issued by the police headquarters.


The sub-inspectors and above were directed to fine the traffic violations on the spot and the GO in existence is valid till the new Motor Vehicle Act is notified, she said, reiterating that they have to comply with it.
