CHENNAI: DMK MP Kanimozhi replaced Subbulakshmi Jagadeesan as party’s deputy general secretary.

Election of a woman deputy general secretary in the DMK was necessitated by the exit of Subbulakshmi Jagadeeshan, who quit the party and politics last month.

The woman MP was appointed as the Chairperson of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj of the Parliamentary Standing Committee very recently.
