Kambar award conferred on Suki Sivam

State government on Thursday conferred Kambar Award on Suki Sivam and Sollin Selvar on Minister Vaigai Selvan for the year 2017.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday presented literary awards, Chithirai Tamil New Year awards for 2017, CM Cyber Tamil, Tamil Chemmal awards for 2016 and 2017, instituted by the state government, at a function at the Secretariat. 

He also conferred Tamil Thai Award 2017 - Bengaluru Tamil Sangam, Kabilar Award 2017 to Ku Ve Balasubramanian, U Ve Saa Award 2017 to Sa Kiruttinamoorthy, GU Pope Award 2017 to Rajeswari Kothandam, Umarupulavar Award 2017 to Hajee M Mohammed Yousuf, Ilangovadigal Award 2017 to Ve Nallathambi, Amma Literary Award 2017 to MS Srilakshmi (Singapore), and CM Cyber Tamil Award 2016 to Ultimate Software Solutions. 

Recipients for Translator Awards 2017 included Nellai S Muthu, Thi Va Deivasigamani, A Selvarasu aka Kurinjivelan, Anaivari Anandan, Maravan Pulavu Sachidhanandham, Vasantha Shyamalam, RK Haldorai, Prof CA Sankaranarayanan, Andal Priyadarshini, and Tarlochan Singh Bedi. He also awarded Ulaga Tamil Sangam Awards 2016 and 2017, Grammar Award and Linguistics Award. 

Besides, he also conferred Tamil Chemmal Awards on one scholar from each of the 32 districts in the State. A total of 64 recipients for the years 2016 and 2017 collected their awards.
