Kallakkurichi case: School reopened for renovation after 67 days

CHENNAI: The private school in Kaniyamoor near Chinna Salem, where a Class 12 girl died, reopened today for renovation so that the premises can be restored to normalcy.

District Collector Shravan Kumar Jadavath issued orders and permitted for renovation works inside the school, which was vandalised by angered protesters following the suspicious death of the girl.

Madras High Court earlier directed the Kallakurichi district Collector to take a call on the representation made by the management of the private school to open for renovation purpose.
