Indiran idol missing from Big Temple

The granite idol was installed at the Indiran Sannidhi at the entrance of the Big Temple. The devotees found the idol missing and promptly informed the temple authorities and the police.

TIRUCHY: A granite idol of Indiran has gone missing from the Big Temple and the Thanjavur idol wing police are at the spot to conduct investigations.

The granite idol was installed at the Indiran Sannidhi at the entrance of the Big Temple. The devotees found the idol missing and promptly informed the temple authorities and the police. Based on information, the Thanjavur idol wing police team led by inspector Indira rushed to the temple on Friday evening and began probe.

The police also inspected documents available with the palace devasthanam and ASI and inquired with the temple staff and Saivaite priests as well. “We will conduct a detailed investigation till Sunday and secure more details regarding the missing idol,” Inspector Indira said.
