CHENNAI: Sabareesan Vedamurthy, son-in-law of Chief Minister MK Stalin, on Thursday participated in a consultative meeting in the Villivakkam constituency in support of DMK candidate Karthik Mohan, after staying behind the political scenes all along.

Sabareesan, accompanied by his wife Senthamarai, expressed strong confidence in the DMK's electoral prospects, citing the government's welfare schemes and governance record. "Victory is certain," he said, adding that there is no significant opposition challenge in the State.

Responding to TVK leader Vijay's entry into the electoral fray, Sabareesan said the party's participation would not affect the DMK's chances of victory. He also remarked that contesting from multiple constituencies reflects a leader's lack of confidence, apparently referring to Vijay fighting polls in Perambur and Tiruchy East.
