HM in soup over issuing question papers well before start of exam

COIMBATORE: A headmistress of a Government Middle School in Erode has landed in trouble for issuing quarterly examination question papers prior to the start of the exam to help students score good marks in her subject.

The headmistress Krishnaveni, who handles Tamil, had issued the question paper to students of Classes 6 and 8 on Monday outside the examination hall at around 9.45 am itself. She permitted them to study for an hour till 10.45 am, even though the exam should have commenced at 10 am. Further, she allowed students to sit in groups and copy.

Similarly, Krishnaveni also distributed the question papers in advance for Class 7 students during the examination held at noon. Chief Educational Officer P Ayyannan has sought an explanation from the headmistress for further action, while District Education Officer (Bhavani) Ramasamy held an inquiry into the incident on Tuesday.
