Hindu Munnani cadre held for damaging functionary’s car near Kovai

Police said Hindu Munnani cadre G Tamilselvan, (24) and his friend R Hariharan, (25) had targeted the car of V Harish, the outfit’s youth wing functionary on Monday night. The duo damaged the car parked in front of his rental house at Kamaraj Nagar by hurling a stone. They also threw stones at the house.

COIMBATORE: Two persons, including a Hindu Munnani cadre, were arrested on Tuesday for damaging the windscreens of a car owned by a Hindu Youth Front in Mettupalayam near Coimbatore.

Police said Hindu Munnani cadre G Tamilselvan, (24) and his friend R Hariharan, (25) had targeted the car of V Harish, the outfit’s youth wing functionary on Monday night. The duo damaged the car parked in front of his rental house at Kamaraj Nagar by hurling a stone. They also threw stones at the house.

A team-led by Coimbatore Range DIG MS Muthusamy, Superintendent of Police V Badrinarayanan visited the spot and held inquiries by collecting CCTV images. Inquiries revealed that Harish had an issue with the duo over installing Ganesha idol for Vinayagar Chathurthi festival. To settle scores, the duo had engineered the attack, police said.
