‘Hand over Vimal Kumar case to CBI’

Several social organisations on Saturday urged the government to hand over the case of alleged suicide by Nettapakkam Police Sub-Inspector Vimal Kumar to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

A resolution to this effect was taken at a consultation meeting of social organisations sponsored by the Federation for Peoples Rights. Another resolution urged the government to suspend Inspector Kalaichalvan and register a case of instigating suicide.  Besides Federation for People’s Rights, functionaries of Makkal Vazhvurumai Iyyakkam, Rural people protection movement, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam, Communist Party of India (CPI), Ambedkar Thondar Padai participated in the meeting.
