Guv Ravi announces essay, short film competitions for students

The competitions are to be conducted in Tamil and English languages with a 3,000-word limit for essay and 7 minutes duration for the short film. The last date for submitting the entries is October 30 before 6 pm.

CHENNAI: Owing to the 75th Independence Day and 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, the founder of Auroville Foundation, the Governor of Tamil Nadu RN Ravi has announced essay and short film competitions for national and international students of Classes between 6 and 12 along with college students.

The competitions are to be conducted in Tamil and English languages with a 3,000-word limit for essay and 7 minutes duration for the short film. The last date for submitting the entries is October 30 before 6 pm.

The topic for essay and short film competitions for school students is ‘Sri Aurobindo and Auroville: Reigniting India’s Greatness.’ And the topic for essay and short film competitions for college students is ‘Sri Aurobindo and Auroville: India’s Gift and Humanity.’

Meanwhile, for college level, the first, second and third place will be awarded Rs 1 lakh, Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Subsequently, for school level, Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 will be awarded for first, second and third levels respectively.
