Guidelines for online admissions to arts and science colleges released

After the Tamil Nadu government announced online admissions for students who want to pursue an education in arts and science colleges, the Directorate of Collegiate Education has come out with a guide, both in digital and print, with comprehensive demonstration videos for applicants.

A senior official from the Higher Education Department said that the 32-page long material will guide students to register and submit applications online. He said that students seeking seats in government arts and science colleges could also register online on www.tngasa.in and www.tndceonline.org, which were opened on July 20. "More than 20,000 students have registered so far," he added.

The official added that students seeking admissions in the State-run polytechnic colleges could also register online (www.tngptc.in and www.tngptc.com). "For Polytechnic courses, more than 5,000 candidates have registered till now," he added.

In addition, he said the department has also established a control room for students to contact to clear doubts concerning online admission. Students could call 044-22351014 and 044-22351015.

The official pointed out that more than 50 facilitation centres will also be established for the students, who could clear all the doubts about the online admission process.
